Export & Import

Back up your location history, export it for analysis in other tools, and keep a copy of your Points of Interest as a JSON file.

Exporting Your Location History

You can export your recorded GPS positions in two formats:

๐Ÿ“ก GPX Format

GPS Exchange Format โ€” the industry standard for sharing routes and tracks. Compatible with navigation apps, GIS software, sports computers, and online mapping tools (Google Earth, Komoot, Strava, etc.).

๐Ÿ“Š CSV Format

Comma-Separated Values โ€” opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets, or any data analysis tool.

How to Export

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Data Management โ†’ Export my position.
  2. Choose your preferred format: GPX or CSV.
  3. The Android file picker opens โ€” choose a save location and filename.
  4. The file is saved to your chosen location.

Exporting Points of Interest

Back up your entire private POI collection โ€” including all folders and point metadata โ€” as a single JSON file.

  1. Go to the Points tab and tap Backup Points.
  2. The file picker opens with a suggested timestamped filename: xopoz_points_backup_[timestamp].json.
  3. Choose where to save the file and confirm.

What Is Included in the Backup?

Importing Points of Interest

Import a previously exported JSON backup to restore or merge your POIs.

๐Ÿ”„ Use export + import to synchronise POIs between two devices manually, or to restore after reinstalling the app.
